About
$quib makes music that sounds like a pop song, a glitchy electronic experiment, a jazz detour and a tab full of internet weirdness all colliding at once. The group comes out of New Jersey, though the copy places its members in New York, and its sound sits in plunderphonics territory, where sampling and rearrangement are the whole game. Their album Erring came out on the label Halcyon Veil. Live, they play material from that record, and the experience is described as dizzying and weirdly addictive, the kind of ride that keeps swerving between catchy hooks and left turn production.
