About
Also known as: Little Women, March 1
Quiet Riot holds a place in rock history as the band behind Metal Health, the first heavy metal album to ever top the Billboard chart. Released in 1983 with the classic lineup of vocalist Kevin DuBrow, guitarist Carlos Cavazo, bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Frankie Banali, the record also gave the world a gloriously rowdy cover of Slade's 'Cum On Feel the Noize'. The band got its start in Los Angeles in 1973, co founded by the late guitarist Randy Rhoads, whose reputation spread fast through the city's club circuit before he departed for Ozzy Osbourne's band. Despite years of lineup shuffles and the devastating loss of DuBrow to a cocaine overdose in 2007, Quiet Riot kept going. Banali rebuilt the band from the ground up and steered them through a late career run that included albums Quiet Riot 10, Road Rage and Hollywood Cowboys. After Banali himself passed away in 2020 following a battle with pancreatic cancer, the remaining members carried on per his wishes, eventually welcoming Sarzo back into the fold.
