Quirine Viersen is a Dutch cellist whose playing is characterised by a powerful yet supple tone. She performs a wide stylistic range, moving comfortably between Baroque composers such as Sweelinck, Romantic heavyweights like Dvořák and Schumann, and twentieth century figures including George Crumb. In concert she has shared the stage with Calefax Rietkwintet, bringing programmes that blend elegance and rhythmic energy in equal measure.
