About
Also known as: Rat
Few bands defined the Sunset Strip sound quite like Ratt. Rising out of Hollywood's club circuit in the early 1980s, they helped shape the glam metal scene alongside rivals like Mötley Crüe, and their triple platinum debut Out of the Cellar turned them into genuine arena rock stars. "Round and Round" is the song most people know, hitting No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and featuring Milton Berle in drag in its iconic video. The twin guitar attack of Robbin Crosby and Warren DeMartini was a big part of what made them special, blending Van Halen swagger with a Judas Priest staccato edge. Their follow up Invasion of Your Privacy kept the momentum going, peaking at No. 7 and delivering crowd favorites like "Lay It Down" and "You're in Love". Ratt kept going through the 1990s and 2000s, releasing their final studio record Infestation in 2010 after years of lineup shuffles and extended breaks. They're consistently ranked among the greatest hair metal acts of the era, and honestly, that reputation holds up.
