About
Also known as: RED
RED has been one of the more ambitious acts in Christian rock since their debut End of Silence dropped in 2006, blending heavy guitars with full orchestral arrangements in a way that few bands in the genre bother attempting. That first record earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Gospel Album, went gold, and sent the single "Breathe Into Me" up to number 15 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The Nashville band built serious mainstream momentum from there, with their third album Until We Have Faces hitting number 2 on the Billboard 200 and Release the Panic reaching number 7. Formed by twin brothers Anthony and Randy Armstrong alongside vocalist Michael Barnes, RED leans into a sound that sits somewhere between post grunge weight and symphonic drama, pulling in influences from Linkin Park and Sevendust. Their catalogue now stretches across eight studio albums, from their breakthrough through to Declaration in 2020 and Rated R in 2023, showing a band that keeps pushing rather than coasting on their early reputation.
