About
Regal, who also goes by ACIDBOY, is a Madrid techno producer and DJ whose sound drifts between acid techno, trance melodies and electro basslines. He broke through in 2012 with the Mute EP on Dustin Zahn's Enemy label, then promptly started Involve Records, which has since put out music from Amelie Lens, Ellen Allien, Alignment, Boston 168 and Lady Starlight. A 2016 collaboration with Len Faki on Figure got critics jokingly calling the duo Faki Regal, and he has remixed Nina Kraviz, Ellen Allien and Emmanuel Top. His 2021 debut album Remember Why You Started was a personal one, backed by a short film starring Patrick Criado from Money Heist, and it spawned three remix EPs including reworks from Slam and Thomas P. Heckmann. In 2024 he released The Final Chapter under the ACIDBOY name, with a video where he plays four characters and pokes fun at the modern techno scene. He has played Berghain, Tresor, Awakenings and DGTL, and is a core resident at KHIDI in Tbilisi.
