Remi Wolf describes her sound as "funky soul pop", and that label tracks pretty well: her music sits somewhere between shimmering alt pop and full on soul, with an eye toward pushing what pop can actually do. Her 2020 EP I'm Allergic to Dogs! put her on the map properly, largely off the back of "Photo ID", which spread wildly on TikTok and landed at number 75 on Triple J's Hottest 100. The 2021 remix EP We Love Dogs! brought in Beck, Sylvan Esso, Hot Chip, and Dominic Fike, showing the kind of company she keeps. Her debut album Juno followed in October 2021, and she spent much of 2022 on the road, opening for Lorde on her North American tour and turning up at Firenze Rocks alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nas. She performed at Coachella in 2023 and supported Olivia Rodrigo on European dates before dropping her second album Big Ideas in July 2024. Pitchfork called the single "Cinderella" a "Soul Train inspired disco funk number" and the record scored an 80 on Metacritic, so the critical world seems firmly on board.
