About
René Froger is one of the Netherlands' best selling artists, with over five million records sold across a career stretching back to the late 1980s. His big break came when he teamed up with Dutch pop band Het Goede Doel for "Alles kan een mens gelukkig maken", which hit number one in the Dutch charts for three weeks in 1989 and sold 300,000 copies. The sing along refrain about having your own home became something of a national earworm. Froger built his name on a string of polished pop and ballad records through the 1990s, racking up gold and platinum albums almost routinely. He later joined Gerard Joling and Gordon to form De Toppers, the glittery Dutch supergroup that represented the Netherlands at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. Along the way he also recorded with Anita Doth of 2 Unlimited and shared a single with Ruth Jacott and Marco Borsato.
