About
Based in Utrecht, the Rietveld Ensemble brings together top tier musicians with international backgrounds, including leading soloists, conservatory teachers, and principal players from major Dutch orchestras. Their chamber music programming leans heavily into underrepresented repertoire, with a particular focus on works by composers from Latin America and beyond. One of their concert programmes, curated by New York pianist Joel Sachs, spotlights chamber music by Latin American composers who built careers in the United States, featuring names such as Osvaldo Golijov, Tania León, Mario Davidovsky, and Orlando Jacinto Garcia. The ensemble has also premiered newly commissioned work, including a piece for solo clarinet by Venezuelan composer Reinaldo Moya. Their lineup typically includes violin, viola, cello, clarinet, and piano.
