About
Rinze lives in Spain and works as a multi instrumentalist and producer, mixing alternative indie pop with acoustic prog and a good dose of what he calls friendly weirdness. There's a mystical streak running through it all, and the lyrics lean heavily on symbolism. Holy dogs, crowned frogs, hopeful gravediggers, spiders rising from the dead and the tree rings of Saturn all wander through his songs. Beneath the strange imagery sits something simple: a belief that people should keep offering each other tender comfort, especially when that feels harder to find. His album Wit Abeel carries that idea through, and the singles Er is liefde genoeg and Alle honden zijn Heilige Geesten give a decent taste of where he's coming from. The lyrics have a way of holding your hand even when things threaten to veer off the road.
