About
Robin McAuley is probably best known as the voice behind the McAuley Schenker Group, the hard rock outfit he fronted alongside guitarist Michael Schenker from 1986 to 1993. That run produced three studio albums, Perfect Timing, Save Yourself and M.S.G., and cemented his reputation as one of melodic rock's most reliable frontmen. Before that, he had already racked up credits with Grand Prix and Far Corporation, including lead vocals on Far Corporation's UK number 8 cover of Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. McAuley has kept himself busy well beyond those MSG years. He joined the Las Vegas residency show Raiding the Rock Vault, recorded a solo album with Survivor's Frankie Sullivan, and later linked up with Michael Schenker Fest alongside Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet and Doogie White. His most recent passion project is Black Swan, the all star band featuring Reb Beach and Jeff Pilson, whose debut Shake the World McAuley has called his personal favourite record out of everything he has made.
