About
Roland Clark has been quietly shaping house music since 1987, when he dropped his first track, and his fingerprints are all over some of the genre's biggest moments. Based in Atlanta, he's worked as a DJ, producer, vocalist and songwriter, racking up credits with Todd Terry, Duke Dumont and Fatboy Slim. That last collaboration is particularly noteworthy: his song "I Get Deep" ended up sampled on two Fatboy Slim tracks, "Star 69" and "Song for Shelter", both on the 2000 album Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars. Clark has operated under a string of aliases over the years, including Jesus Jackson, South Street Player and Digital Pimps, and he was a founding member of Urban Soul. The Jesus Jackson guise gave him "Running on Sunshine", a 2006 co production with Fatboy Slim that found its way into Grey's Anatomy and other ABC shows. His reach extends well beyond house: "I Get Deep" resurfaced in Katy Perry's "Swish Swish" in 2017. These days he runs his own imprint, Delete Records, distributed through Label Worx.
