French producer Erwan Castex, who records as Rone, has built a reputation for electronic music that moves comfortably between ambient textures, IDM and something with enough pulse to fill a dancefloor. His 2012 album Tohu Bohu put him on the map internationally, picking up three Trax Magazine awards and spawning the video for 'Bye Bye Macadam', which racked up over 40 million YouTube views and even made it onto Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. The National's Matt Berninger was such a fan that he brought Rone in to add electronic sequences to Trouble Will Find Me. Since then Rone has kept pushing into new territory. His fifth album Room With A View grew out of a choreographic collaboration with 18 dancers from the Ballet national de Marseille, and his score for the film Night Ride earned him the 2021 César Award for Best Original Music. The collaborative album L(oo)ping followed, featuring vocalists including Jehnny Beth, Yael Naim and Camélia Jordana, performed live with 81 musicians at the Auditorium Maurice Ravel.
