About
Also known as: María de los Ángeles Rozalén Ortuño
Rozalén, the stage name of María de los Ángeles Rozalén Ortuño, is a Spanish folk pop singer songwriter from Letur whose music often carries real emotional and social weight. Her 2017 single "La puerta violeta" became one of her best known tracks, and she has built a catalog across six studio albums from "Con derecho a…" in 2013 through to "El abrazo" in 2024. Along the way she picked up a Goya Award in 2021 for the song "Que no, que no", which is one of Spain's most prestigious film and arts honours. Her work stretches beyond music into activism and collaboration with organisations like Plan Internacional and Fundación Vicente Ferrer. She also brings a trained perspective to what she does, holding a degree in psychology and a master in music therapy. Her 2022 album "Matriz" featured collaborations with Rodrigo Cuevas, Silvia Pérez Cruz and Tanxugueiras, showing a restless appetite for musical partnership.
