Saint Asonia (CA)

About

Also known as: SΔINT ΔSONIΔ

Saint Asonia started as two songwriters messing around without a plan. Former Three Days Grace singer Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist Mike Mushok began writing together in 2014, ended up with a stack of tracks they liked, and RCA Records came knocking after a three song demo. Gontier described the band as refugees who just hit it off creatively, which fits a supergroup stitched together from Staind, Three Days Grace, Finger Eleven and Dark New Day. Their self titled 2015 debut topped the US Top Hard Rock Albums chart, with "Better Place" doing well on rock radio. A second record, Flawed Design, followed in 2019, and the lineup shifted over the years, with Gontier's cousin Cale on bass and Cody Watkins on drums. More recently they put out the Introvert and Extrovert EPs in 2022, plus "Wolf", which got a reworked version featuring Skillet's John Cooper. The band went on hiatus after Gontier rejoined Three Days Grace in 2024.
