Sanah built her reputation on an almost absurd run of chart dominance: her first four studio albums, Królowa dram, Irenka, Uczta, and Sanah śpiewa poezyje, all hit number one in Poland and each earned a diamond certification from the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry. The Warsaw born singer, songwriter, violinist and composer blends pop with art pop and indie sensibilities, and her music carries a literary streak too, as heard in her settings of poetry by Wisława Szymborska. Her breakthrough came in 2020 when the single Szampan went to number one, and by the end of that year she was the most played artist in Poland on Spotify. Her fifth studio album Kaprysy arrived in June 2024, keeping the momentum going. She has collaborated with artists including Dawid Podsiadło and Kwiat Jabłoni, and her stage name sanah comes from shortening the English version of her given name, Susannah. Before that she performed as Ayreen, a nod to her middle name Irena. Trained as a classical violinist at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, that formal background gives her pop output a texture that sets her apart from most of her contemporaries.
