Sarah Engels, the Cologne born pop and schlager artist, first caught public attention as the runner up on season 8 of Deutschland sucht den Superstar in 2011, a journey made more dramatic by the fact that she had already been eliminated once before being brought back into the competition. She went on to build a solid discography and, in August 2025, released her fourth studio album Strong Girls Club, a double album split between German language and English language tracks. Not long after, she took on the role of Satine in the Cologne production of Moulin Rouge! the musical. Early 2026 brought another milestone when she won the German national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Fire, representing Germany at the contest in Vienna.
