Shane Filan has spent the better part of his career as one of the lead voices behind Westlife, the Irish pop group that racked up 28 platinum discs and sold 55 million records worldwide. Notably, he was the first member of the group to be offered a solo deal back in 2001, but turned it down. He finally took the plunge after Westlife called it quits in 2012, signing with London Records for a reported 20 million pounds. His debut solo album You and Me followed in 2013, kicking off a run of three solo records. Right Here came out in 2015, hitting number one on the Irish Album Charts, and Love Always arrived in 2017, his highest charting UK release to date, peaking at number five. That third album found a particularly devoted audience in Asia, where the track Beautiful in White became a genuine phenomenon in countries like the Philippines and Indonesia. Westlife eventually reunited in 2018 as a four piece, releasing new material written by Ed Sheeran and celebrating their 20th anniversary with a 50 date tour.
