About
Also known as: Sigrid Raabe, Sigrid Solbakk, Sigrid Solbakk Raabe
Few pop artists can claim they wrote their breakthrough song as a direct response to being patronized in the studio, but that's exactly how Sigrid came up with "Don't Kill My Vibe" in 2016, and Island Records signed her on the spot after hearing it. The Norwegian singer from Ålesund builds her pop around anger, melancholia, and disappointment, citing Bonnie Raitt, Robyn, and Adele as touchstones for her love songs. Her debut album Sucker Punch and the follow up How to Let Go both hit number one in Norway and cracked the UK top five, earning her spots on the BBC Sound of 2018 longlist winner and a Forbes 30 Under 30 nod. How to Let Go came with a 50 date world tour and a deluxe edition that added acoustic cuts plus new tracks like "Blue". She kept busy with her EP The Hype in 2023 and a collaboration with Kygo called "The Feeling" in 2024. Her third album, There's Always More That I Could Say, arrived in October 2025, a 10 track set previewed by the single "Jellyfish". If the pattern holds, it won't be long before it's sitting at the top of the Norwegian charts too.
