About
SiM are a Japanese metalcore band from Kanagawa who throw just about everything into the blender: nu metal, ska, reggae, dub, hip hop, punk, and more. The result is a sound that's hard to pin down but instantly recognizable, delivered mostly in English with a defiant edge. They broke big internationally when their track "The Rumbling" opened the final season of Attack on Titan in early 2022, hitting number one on the US Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and cracking the top five of the Bubbling Under Hot 100. Before that global moment, they had already built a serious reputation at home, selling out Nippon Budokan, headlining Yokohama Arena, and landing themes for anime like Rage of Bahamut and Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul. Their 2023 album Playdead dropped while they were out on a US tour with Dance Gavin Dance, and a second Attack on Titan tie in, "Under the Tree", kept them in the spotlight. Frontman MAH recently pulled together the REDLINE DREAM BAND, a 29 piece supergroup bringing together voices and players from FACT, MAN WITH A MISSION, Crossfaith, Crystal Lake, and others.
