Skaiwater blew up thanks to "#miles", a track that spread like wildfire on TikTok and pulled in a huge audience, eventually landing a remix with Lil Uzi Vert. The Nottingham born, LA based rapper and producer makes music that blurs genre lines, mixing rap, hyperpop, R&B and electronic influences into something that feels genuinely its own. Their 2022 album Rave brought in Lil Uzi Vert, XLOVCLO and Prentiss, and their 2024 single "Rain" racked up over two million Spotify streams. The 2024 album #gigi is a solid marker of how far they've come, featuring Lil Nas X, who also appeared on the earlier single "Light!" alongside 9lives. That track was notably Lil Nas X's first ever feature on someone else's song. Skaiwater followed #gigi with the 2025 studio album #mia, and then released the pinkPrint EP trilogy, a series that had originally lived on SoundCloud under the alias lily. Their dog Biggie has even made it onto eight of their cover artworks, which tells you something about the personality behind the music.
