About
Skerryvore take their name from a lighthouse near the island of Tiree, off Scotland's west coast, which is where the band got started in 2005. They've grown into an eight piece outfit that plays traditional ceilidh music, but they don't keep it purely traditional. Pop, folk and rock all get stirred into the mix. Ceilidh, if you're wondering, is pronounced "kaylie". It's an old Scottish and Irish custom, basically a party built around dancing and live music, open to every age. That communal, get everyone moving spirit is the heart of what Skerryvore do. Their catalogue includes the album Beautiful Mistakes.
