About
Smash Into Pieces have been quietly building one of the more impressive discographies in Swedish rock since forming in Örebro in 2008, with nine studio albums to their name. AllMusic pegged them as "highly melodic" and noted a blend of slick pop metal and electro rock, while Metal Hammer simply calls them alternative metal. Both descriptions fit: the band has a knack for massive, hooky choruses wrapped in heavier instrumentation. Their debut Unbreakable cracked the Swedish albums chart at number 7, and they followed it up with European tours alongside Amaranthe, Alter Bridge and Halestorm. They have a real appetite for ambitious concepts too. Arcadia came packaged with a comic book tied to the music videos, and its follow up A New Horizon continued that same narrative. They have also made a habit of entering Melodifestivalen, Sweden's biggest song contest, finishing second in the 2023 final with "Six Feet Under" and landing third place in 2024 with "Heroes Are Calling". Their 2024 album Ghost Code and the single "Heroes Are Calling" show a band very much still in motion.
