About
Also known as: Star to a Young Culture, 스테이씨
STAYC is a six member girl group from High Up Entertainment, and their sound has a name: "Teen Fresh", coined by their producers, the duo Black Eyed Pilseung, who also worked on hits like "TT" and "Dumhdurum". The group name stands for Star to a Young Culture, and the idea is to take over pop culture. Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon and J debuted in November 2020 with the single album Star to a Young Culture and its lead track "So Bad", which made them the first debut girl group of 2020 to sell over 10,000 copies in a week. Things moved fast from there. "ASAP" and "Stereotype" brought big music video numbers and their first music show trophy, and the EP Young Luv.com became their first number one on the Gaon Album Chart. In 2022 they debuted in Japan with "Poppy", and "Teddy Bear" topped the Circle Album Chart in 2023. Their first world tour ran from September 2023 to March 2024, and their first studio album, Metamorphic, followed in July 2024 with the lead single "Cheeky Icy Thang".
