About
Also known as: Hollyn Elizabeth Shadinger
Stela Cole scored a notable moment on American Song Contest when her track "DIY" broke the record for most first week streams on the show, representing Georgia all the way to the semi finals. Before that, she had already carved out her own path as a fully independent artist, funding her EP Woman of the Hour with savings from her time at RCA Records, a deal that ended after creative clashes over the direction of her sound. She owns the masters to that EP and to "I Shot Cupid," which means streaming royalties actually pay her bills. Her debut album I Die Where You Begin, released in 2025, marks a real shift in her sound. She cites Fleetwood Mac, Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys and The Eagles as touchstones for this era, and calls it less of a musical evolution and more of a rebirth. The album was preceded by a prequel EP and a string of singles, and she has kept the momentum going with the video for "Stereoqueen" dropping in early 2025.
