Singer and songwriter Stephanie Struijk built a devoted following in the Netherlands under the name Stevie Ann, starting with her 2005 debut album Away from here. That record's single The Poetry Man, released in an acoustic version, picked up serious radio play and climbed to number 12 in the Mega Top 50. A reissue with a bonus disc pushed the album to number four in the Album Top 100 and earned it a gold certification. Three more English language albums followed, including Light up, recorded in California with producer Mitchell Froom, and California sounds, inspired by her life on the West Coast. In 2016 she dropped the Stevie Ann name and started writing and performing in Dutch as Stephanie Struijk, collaborating closely with Daniël Lohues. The album Fijn zo came out in February 2021 to positive reviews, and her third Dutch language album Dezelfde zon arrived in early 2024. She has also played alongside Krezip as a fill in for their keyboard player, and toured Flanders and the Netherlands with Belgian singer Eva De Roovere.
