Still Corners are a London based dream pop duo built around songwriter and producer Greg Hughes and vocalist Tessa Murray, whose gauzy, cinematic sound sits somewhere between classic new wave and hazy synth pop. The two met in 2009 at a train stop in London after a diversion sent them both to the wrong station, which feels like an appropriately dreamy origin story for the music they'd go on to make. They broke through after signing to Sub Pop, releasing their debut album Creatures of an Hour in 2011 to solid reviews, and followed it with Strange Pleasures in 2013, with the single "Berlin Lovers" getting widespread attention. After going independent on their own Wrecking Light Records label, the band kept a steady pace, putting out Dead Blue in 2016, Slow Air in 2018, and The Last Exit in 2021. Their sixth album, Dream Talk, arrived in April 2024, showing no sign of the duo slowing down. Along the way, Pitchfork named their 2012 single "Fireflies" Best New Track, cementing them as a fixture in the dream pop world.
