Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, is one of the most recognisable voices in African dancehall and reggae, repping his hometown of Ashaiman, Ghana with serious conviction. He typically sings in Jamaican Patois, blending it across a sound that pulls from hiplife, afrobeats, and highlife, making him genuinely hard to pin down. His sophomore album Necessary Evil alone pulled in three Ghana Music Awards, and he has gone on to win Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards twice, in 2015 and 2024. In 2022 he signed to Def Jam Recordings Africa, releasing his fifth studio album 5th Dimension in 2023, which debuted at number eight on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. His 2024 single Jejereje, made with Ginton, carries a title that roughly translates to 'one's cup of tea', a nod to the idea that your actions shape your fate.
