Summer Walker

About

Also known as: Summer Marjani Walker

Summer Walker has a knack for turning raw emotion into R&B that feels genuinely lived in. The Atlanta singer signed with Love Renaissance and Interscope in 2017, and her debut mixtape Last Day of Summer introduced a sound rooted in neo soul, trap soul and deep soul that clicked immediately. The remix of 'Girls Need Love' with Drake put her on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, and her debut album Over It followed in 2019, briefly breaking the streaming record for a female R&B artist and going triple platinum. Her second album Still Over It landed even harder, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 and shattering her own streaming records. The feat matched Taylor Swift as the only female act to place 18 songs from one album on the Hot 100 simultaneously. Singles like 'No Love' with SZA and Cardi B, and the later 'Good Good' with Usher and 21 Savage, kept her deep in the charts. Four Grammy nominations and over 53 million certified units later, she remains one of the defining voices in contemporary R&B.
