Susanne Alt is a German saxophonist and composer based in Amsterdam whose sound refuses to stay in one lane. After building a solid reputation through five jazz albums on Venus Tunes, she took a sharp turn in 2016 with Saxify, a full on funk record featuring 36 musicians including Fred Wesley, Michael Hampton, and Roger Smith of Tower of Power. It's considered her most ambitious work and earned strong reviews across the board. She's kept herself busy far beyond the studio. Alt has performed with jazz orchestras, toured worldwide alongside house DJs and producers like Roog and Hardsoul Productions, and appeared in theater productions. Her catalogue stretches from her 2004 debut Nocturne through to Royalty for Real in 2024, showing an artist who keeps moving forward without losing the groove.
