Paris based singer, guitarist and producer Tamarae works at the intersection of indie soul, alternative R&B and electronic production. Her sound balances intimacy with something almost cinematic, built from introspective songwriting and layered, modern soundscapes. She studied jazz vocals and guitar at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, and that formal foundation quietly underpins everything she makes, even as her music has moved well beyond it. Her debut album The Ocean Knows was broadcast on BBC Jazz World, and her EP Dreams, recorded at Wisseloord Studios, explores the emotional weight of the pandemic period. European tours and support slots for Alfa Mist followed. A recurring thread through her work is a sense of duality: songs about loneliness, longing and belonging, carried by an electronic tension that makes her sound distinctly her own. Her single Resemblance, which addresses risk, legacy and building a life abroad, points toward a forthcoming EP.
