About
Tedeschi Trucks Band hit the ground running: their very first album, Revelator, won the Grammy for Best Blues Album, a pretty bold opening statement for a group that had only just formed in 2010. The band is anchored by married couple Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, who folded their separate outfits together after years of touring as the Soul Stew Revival. The result is a sprawling twelve piece ensemble that blends blues rock, soul and southern rock into something that sounds both lived in and alive. Their catalog keeps getting bigger and more ambitious. Let Me Get By debuted at number 15 on the Billboard 200, while the 2022 project I Am the Moon stretched across four separately released volumes and 24 original songs. One of their most celebrated live moments was performing Derek and the Dominos' Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs in full at the LOCKN' Festival alongside Trey Anastasio, later released as Layla Revisited.
