TesseracT have been quietly reshaping heavy music since forming in Milton Keynes back in 2003, and they are widely credited as one of the acts that helped pioneer the djent movement in progressive metal. Their sound blends dense, syncopated guitar work with atmospheric, melodic vocals, and over five studio albums including One, Altered State, Polaris, Sonder and their most recent record War of Being, they have steadily refined that approach without losing the experimental edge that made them stand out in the first place. The band has had an interesting relationship with their lead vocalist slot over the years, with Daniel Tompkins departing, being replaced twice, and eventually returning to become the settled voice of the band. That lineup, completed by guitarist and producer Acle Kahney, rhythm guitarist James Monteith, bassist Amos Williams and drummer Jay Postones, is now signed to Kscope. Recent output including the tracks Legion and War of Being suggests the band is still in active creative mode.
