About
The Clockworks are a four piece from Galway who made their name by tearing up stages in London with a sharp, restless take on alternative rock. That reputation got them support slots with the Pixies and Johnny Marr, which is not a bad set of teachers. Their debut album, Exit Strategy, pegged them as a band you really want to see live, all raw energy and attitude. For the follow up, The Entertainment, they swapped some of that roughness for a bigger, more cinematic sound built on synths and strings. The band themselves call it a work of friction, poking at the clash between human connection and technology. It's a more polished and ambitious step, but the intensity is still very much there.
