About
The New Diamonds is a Dutch indorock act built around a musical tribute to the Blue Diamonds, the Indo Dutch brother duo of Ruud and Riem de Wolff. The show features Patrick Drabe and Steffen de Wolff, who bring the story of these two brothers to theatre stages across the Netherlands. The Blue Diamonds conquered the world in the early 1960s with hits like Ramona, before military service interrupted their momentum. By the time they were discharged, The Beatles had reshaped the musical landscape, yet the brothers held on to a devoted following in the Far East. The New Diamonds first told this story in their production The Story of the Blue Diamonds, and a follow up show has since expanded on it with fresh songs and new chapters of the tale. It is a lively, affectionate celebration of a remarkable piece of Dutch music history.
