About
Few bands can claim a platinum hit built from a run of just 500 hand pressed CD singles, but that's exactly how The Paper Kites got their start. The Melbourne folk rock and indie rock group formed in 2009, and their 2010 track "Bloom" spread almost entirely by word of mouth before eventually going platinum in the United States. Their sound found an early TV foothold too, with "Featherstone" landing in the season 8 finale of Grey's Anatomy. Over the years the band has steadily expanded their ambition. Their 2015 album Twelvefour was a full concept record written entirely in the small hours between midnight and 4am, recorded in Seattle with Grammy nominated producer Phil Ek. They've now released seven studio albums in total, with their most recent, If You Go There, I Hope You Find It, arriving in early 2026.
