About
Ed de Smul, known as 'Blues Man' and previously a driving force in the bluesband Ed & the Gators, took a different path with The Rusty Zippers. The duo is his return to the roots of his musical obsession, digging into folk, americana and country sounds from earlier eras to write songs that sit somewhere between melancholy and genuine emotional pull. Alongside him, Tom de Poorter (from Little Kim & The Alley Apple 3) layers mandolin, banjo and guitars into a warm, melodic palette that suits the material perfectly. Together they make intimate, unhurried music that earns its feelings honestly.
