Copenhagen's The Sonic Dawn describe their own sound as 'a psychedelic mixture of styles, from jazzy sitar pop to heavy acid rock,' and that breadth shows across their catalogue. Formed in 2013, they signed to a local psych label almost immediately and within a couple of years had landed international deals, first with Germany's Nasoni Records and then with Heavy Psych Sounds, the Italian label run by Nick Oliveri of Queens of the Stone Age fame. Their debut Perception was cut at Abbey Road for a remastered edition, while their second album Into the Long Night scored two weeks at number one on Danish national radio and earned them a run of 15 shows as tour support for Brant Bjork. Their third album Eclipse, recorded to tape with a producer known for his work with Roger Waters, was called 'one of the best psychedelic pop albums of the decade' by reviewers. It features over a dozen tracks whittled down from more than 40 candidates, which gives you a sense of how seriously they take the craft. A prolific live band, they have toured Europe repeatedly, sharing stages with the likes of Graveyard and Dead Meadow, and their fourth album Enter the Mirage followed in 2020.
