About
The Story of Johnny Cash is a live theatrical tribute that brings the life and music of Johnny Cash to the stage through a full band performance woven together with storytelling. Frontman Robbert H. Reijenga, known from The Raspers, takes on the role of Cash with a deep baritone voice that suits the material well. Alongside him, Alexander Broussard handles both keyboards and narration, guiding audiences through the highs and lows of Cash's life, from his turbulent relationship with June Carter and his battles with addiction to the legendary prison concerts. Drummer Dennis van Hoorn, guitarist Theo van Niel jr., and bassist Evert Willemstijn round out the band, while singer Jamie Hermans steps into the role of June Carter, including a duet on Jackson. Classics like Folsom Prison Blues, Ring of Fire, I Walk the Line, and Hurt all feature. Reijenga has performed this show over 2,000 times.
