The Trews built their reputation the hard way, starting out under the name One I'd Trouser before eventually landing a recording contract after winning a radio contest in St. Catharines. Their debut full length House of Ill Fame went platinum in Canada, powered by 'Not Ready to Go', which topped Canadian rock radio and became the most played song of 2004 in that format. The follow up Den of Thieves, produced by Jack Douglas of Aerosmith and John Lennon fame, kept the momentum going with two more number one singles and earned the band a spot opening for the Rolling Stones and Robert Plant. The Antigonish foursome of Colin MacDonald, John Angus MacDonald, Jack Syperek and Theo Mckibbon has racked up multiple Juno nominations across their career, including Album of the Year and Group of the Year for their third record No Time for Later. Their acoustic live album Friends and Total Strangers showed a different, stripped back side, and the tribute single Highway of Heroes, inspired by a fallen Canadian soldier, cemented their standing as one of Canada's most consistent rock acts.
