Few Scottish bands have had a debut quite like The View's. Their first album, Hats Off to the Buskers, shot straight to number one on the UK Albums Chart in January 2007 and went platinum, picking up a Mercury Music Prize nomination along the way. The single "Same Jeans" reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, and "Wasted Little DJs" was voted Best Track at the NME Awards that year. The Dundee quartet blend indie rock with punk, pop, alternative rock and folk, and producer Owen Morris, known for his work with Oasis and The Verve, helmed that breakout record. Though the chart highs of that debut proved hard to repeat, The View built something arguably more durable: a fiercely loyal Scottish fanbase. Their subsequent albums have regularly topped the Scottish Albums Chart, and their live shows sell out consistently across Scotland. They played T in the Park a record eight times, prompting the festival organiser to say they could play every year if they wanted. Five studio albums in, they remain a fixture on the UK festival circuit.
