Third World have been at it since 1973, which puts over fifty years of reggae history behind a band that started out in Kingston, Jamaica. They first caught wider attention opening for Bob Marley and the Wailers, and from there built a reputation as architects of what became known as reggae fusion, weaving roots reggae together with r&b, funk and pop into something distinctly their own. That sound produced genuine worldwide hits, including '96 Degrees in the Shade' and the dancefloor staple 'Now That We Found Love'. The band racked up nine Grammy nominations along the way and earned the Jamaican Music Icon Award. Co founder and guitarist Stephen 'Cat' Coore, recognised by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, is a cornerstone of their legacy. Bassist Richard Daley and vocalist AJ Brown keep the group's live shows firmly grounded in that deep catalogue.
