Thomas Acda is probably best known as one half of the beloved Dutch duo Acda en De Munnik, a partnership that grew out of a shared project at the Kleinkunstacademie in Amsterdam and ended up defining a generation of Dutch cabaret and pop music. The duo's 1995 theater show Zwerf'On got them into the recording studio, and from there they built a catalog of songs that became part of the cultural furniture in the Netherlands, including tracks featured in the hit film All Stars and its television spin off. Acda has never been content to stay in one lane. Alongside the duo work, he has appeared in a string of Dutch films and TV series, played a regular role in the All Stars franchise, and performed as a solo artist with his 2018 program Motel. He has also written a novel and made his directing debut with a television film. After Acda en De Munnik officially said goodbye with their NAAM farewell tour in 2015, the two eventually found their way back together, reuniting as a duo in 2023.
