Thursday

About

Thursday built their reputation on a sound that blurred the line between post hardcore intensity and emo's emotional rawness, and by the early 2000s they were one of the most talked about bands in that scene. Their second album Full Collapse put them on the map, and their major label debut War All the Time landed at number 7 on the Billboard 200, a rare feat for a band of their kind. The road to that point was rough: a bruising stint on Victory Records left the band disillusioned enough that they publicly told fans to skip buying the Five Stories Falling EP and just download the one new track instead. After a run of albums through the 2000s, Thursday called it quits in 2012, reunited in 2016, broke up again in 2019, then came back once more for a 2021 appearance at Chicago's Riot Fest. In 2024 they released their first new song in 13 years, proving the band still has unfinished business.
