Tijuana Panthers are a three piece surf rock and garage punk band out of Long Beach, California, made up of Daniel Michicoff on bass and vocals, Chad Wachtel on guitar and vocals, and Phil Shaheen on drums and vocals. Everyone sings, which gives their sound a loose, communal energy that fits right in with their scrappy, sun bleached aesthetic. Since their 2008 EP they have kept a steady output going, releasing six studio albums over roughly a decade and change. Their 2019 record Carpet Denim and the 2022 follow up Halfway to Eighty show a band with no intention of slowing down, still working that sweet spot between hazy surf textures and raw garage punch.
