Few groups defined the 1990s quite like TLC. The Atlanta trio of T Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli stacked up nine top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including four number one singles: "Creep", "Waterfalls", "No Scrubs", and "Unpretty". Their 1994 album CrazySexyCool earned a diamond certification from the RIAA, and they became the first R&B group in history to receive a million certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan. With over 60 million records sold worldwide, they rank among the five best selling American girl groups ever. After Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes died in 2002, T Boz and Chilli chose not to replace her, continuing as a duo instead. They picked up a Legend Award at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards Japan and were inducted into the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in 2022. In 2017, they released their fifth album, simply titled TLC, funded through a crowdfunding campaign and featuring a guest appearance from Snoop Dogg.
