About

Touchstone have been carving out their corner of the progressive rock world since 2003, when keyboardist Rob Cottingham and guitarist Adam Hodgson got the band rolling in Hertfordshire. Their sound sits somewhere between the prog sensibilities of Yes and the harder rocking edge of Van Halen, a blend that showed up clearly on their debut album Discordant Dreams and only sharpened from there. That record won them the Classic Rock Society Best New Band 2007 award, presented by John Wetton of Asia, and landed them a support slot on the UK Tall Ships Tour with It Bites. Their third album The City Sleeps, released in 2011 on SPV's Steamhammer label, cracked the UK rock charts at number 36. Along the way, they nabbed a narrative from actor Jeremy Irons for their second album Wintercoast and played the prestigious High Voltage Festival in London. The band has cycled through some notable vocalists over the years, including Kim Seviour and, later, former Karnataka singer Hayley Griffiths, keeping the crossover prog sound very much alive.
