About
Trio Britta Maria brings together vocalist Britta Maria, pianist and singer Maurits Fondse, and accordion and bandoneon player Gert Wantenaar for an intimate blend of French chanson and original Dutch language songs. The group has been performing this combination for many years, earning praise from notable figures including radio presenter Frits Spits and chanson expert Jacques Klöters. Their album De Omweg received four stars from critic Henk van Gelder in the NRC, and the song Houd Moed from that record has become one of their most celebrated pieces. Their repertoire circles around universal themes: love, joy, grief, and above all the resilience to keep going. The result is chamber scale chanson that feels both personal and deeply comforting.
