TVXQ have been called the Kings of K pop, and the numbers back it up. Formed by SM Entertainment in 2003 as a five member boy band, they debuted with the single Hug in 2004 and went on to top the charts in South Korea. Their 2008 album Mirotic won the Golden Disk Award for Album of the Year, and its title track is still seen by critics as a K pop staple. They were also among the first Korean acts to lead the Korean Wave in Japan, where they became the best selling foreign artist of all time. After three members left in 2010, Yunho and Changmin carried on as a duo, returning with Keep Your Head Down in 2011. In Japan they kept breaking records, became the first foreign act to headline Nissan Stadium, and with the album XV scored six number one albums in a row. They marked their 20th anniversary with three nights at Tokyo Dome.
