About
Also known as: トゥワイス, 트와이스
Twice were put together on a TV survival show, and then became one of the best selling girl groups ever. The nine members, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu, came out of the show Sixteen in 2015, with Tzuyu and Momo added by JYP founder J. Y. Park himself. The debut got a lukewarm reception, but "Like Ooh Ahh" slowly climbed the charts through word of mouth. Then "Cheer Up" landed in 2016, hit number one, and won Song of the Year at both the Melon Music Awards and the Mnet Asian Music Awards. "TT" followed straight after, and their point choreography turned into dance crazes and memes. They went on to conquer Japan too, becoming the first Korean girl group to do a Japanese dome tour, and later cracked the US with Republic Records. Their 2024 EP With You th topped the Billboard 200. Along the way they moved from a bright, youthful image to a wider range of sounds and concepts.
